How can we have the best life possible?

There are so many obstacles, problems, worries and cares and things that can just plain make us feel like we are running around here to there and in circles! How does one truly have a fulfilling life amidst all the things going on around you? Maybe you think you're life is going fine and you can't imagine how it could get better. The answer sounds so simple, but it's true. So.....how can we have the best life possible? By allowing the Lord to make it the best!

  1. To God it’s the little things that matter.
  2. God works with man through the little things of being obedient to God.

* Life is about making choices; some choices are right and some are wrong. 

His commands are not grievous

I John 5:1-3* If you were to make a list of priority, where does God fall into your life?

Seek ye first

Matt. 6:19-34

  1. God and His work must be first.
  2. A saved person will not be happy unless God is in control.
  3. Forsaking the Assembly (Sunday morning).
  4. Not praying, study.

 

Foundation laid on a Rock

Luke 6:46-49

  1. That Rock is Christ.
  2. Every aspect of your life must be built upon the Lord. How do you do this? What’s the point of this?

* Is it important who you hang around with?* What about man?

  1. Wife, not your child.
  2. Husband the leader.

Take heed how he buildeth

I Cor. 3:9-11

  1. Our lives must be built upon Jesus Christ.
  2. In order for it to be built upon Christ it must be built His way.
  3. Labors for the Lord – works for the Lord.

* Many children of God fall into the category of the parable of the soils.

  1. Many hear, but never take time to become grounded. What does it mean to become grounded?
  2. Many allow the world to become more important: (jobs, hobbies, sports, family, etc..)
  3. Will you bring forth 30 or 60 or 100.
  4. If you worked at your job as you worked for the Lord, how many of us would have a job?

* There are two natures of man, flesh (carnal) and the spirit (Godly).* From the time a person is saved until they die they are in a battle with each other – it’s up to you who wins. 

Two natures of man

  1. Flesh nature – natural.
  2. Spiritual Body.

 

Carnally minded is death

Rom. 8:1-8

  1. Carnal means worldly minded.
  2. What takes up most of your time in thought?

 

Love not the world

I John 2:9-11, 15-17

  1. Is there any person you would like to see harm done to? Is there anybody you would like to get even with?
  2. Do you easily fit into the world or into a spirit filled service. Where are you most comfortable.
  3. Would God say your doing His Will.

 

Press toward the mark

Phil. 3:13-16

  1. Reaching forth unto those things which are before.
  2. As saved children of God we lose focus too easily.
  3. Our focus needs to be on the Lord and His work, man will not be happy until God is first.

 

Put on the new man

Eph. 4:23-29 

Except the Lord build the house

  1. Is the Lord building your house?
  2. Bible studies, Wednesday service, youth rallies, visitation, prayer, personal devotion.
  3. For most of God’s people serving the Lord and putting God first in their lives is not always of life.

Feareth the Lord

Ps. 128:1-21) Man today has not fear of the Lord. Why do we say we no longer fear theLord?2) God’s people have become as Israel and no longer fear the Lord. 

Trusteth the Lord

Prov. 16:20, 16-33

  1. Gain understanding, understanding of God, of others.

 

Without faith it’s impossible

Ye are bought with a price

  1. You belong to God.
  2. Your life is the Lords. Man must recognize that.
  3. By not allowing God to rule your life your fighting God. (Thoughts, actions, speech)

We are the Lord’s

All is the Lord’s

  1. Man makes himself depressed. How does man make himself depressed?
  2. God desires to help man but man will not allow God to help him.

 

Be obedient to God

Prov. 3:1-81) In all thy ways acknowledge Him. How does man acknowledge the Lord?How do you acknowledge the Lord?

Be not deceived

Gal. 6:6-10

  1. Whatsoever a man soweth.
  2. If man is unhappy it’s because he won’t allow God to make him happy.

Walk in the spirit

Gal. 5:16-18 

If you be willing and obedient

  1. We need to stop trying to make our lives the best for the Lord and allow God to do it for us. Not being in services every opportunity is one way. Not being around God’s people, prayer, and study.

Your labor is not in vain
